A lab meeting at the Edmonton Valley Zoo

Science, sunshine, and animals: we swapped the usual meeting room for the Edmonton Valley Zoo.

A lab meeting at the Edmonton Valley Zoo

For our latest COSSEE lab meeting (31st August 2026), we swapped our usual meeting room for the Edmonton Valley Zoo! Over lunch, we caught up on lab news and recent activities before heading off to explore the zoo, meet its many residents, and make the most of a sunny afternoon away from our desks; with family welcome to join the fun too.

A collage of animals and COSSEE members from the lab meeting at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, including a red panda, a snowy owl, an elephant, a peacock and an armadillo.
Some of the residents we met, and the team out exploring.

It was a great chance to connect as a team, have some fun, and experience a different side of Edmonton. Science, sunshine, and animals made for a pretty great lab meeting!

A big thank you to the COSSEE Access, Community + Belonging committee (Aleksandra, Cassidy, Iwo and Mahi) for organising such a fun day out.
